Finding foreclosure
listings can be a very easy exercise or quite a
challenge, depending upon the area where you live. In
some cases, in large areas, there will be a lot of
foreclosure listings or your area may be very well
covered, depending on where you live. Other times,
you may find that there are too few foreclosure
listings for it to be worthwhile for a company to
cover the area, which may lead to very sparse
listings.
However, finding foreclosure listings is
even harder if you are on a low budget. Free foreclosure
listings are hard to find, but it is quite worthwhile if
you are willing to do a little work, and can save you a
huge amount of money. The first thing that you should look
for is trial offers, or introductory offers to a service.
If you intend to buy a home in the near future it is highly
unlikely that you will use such a service more than a
couple of times over the year for which you would have to
pay. Therefore, it may be a good idea to just use the seven
day free trial or similar offer that many sites have. There
are few completely free services, but many pay sites that
offer limited free services.
That is the best way to find foreclosure
listings for free. However, even if you are looking for
free listings, the quality of the site that you are using
is definitely still something that you should take into
consideration. Most important is the frequency that the
site is updated. You do not want to find yourself visiting
a home that has already been auctioned off, or missing an
auction on what could be your dream home. Many sites find
it adequate to update their listings only once or twice a
month. However, if you do more research, you can find some
gems, these may update their listings as often as daily.
You can really have a huge advantage if you do your
research on a daily basis. You also want a site that offers
extras, such as photos of the home or descriptions of the
neighborhoods.
